Operation Vala Umgodi consists of a multidisciplinary team from different police units acting against illegal mining.

According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Captain Mpho Nonyane police were conducting an intelligence-driven operation when they received information about someone dealing in dagga in a house in the area. When they searched the house, they found a plastic bag full of dagga weighing about 758 grams with an estimated value of R1 500.

The man is expected to appear at the Hazyview magistrate’s court soon.
