Mpumalanga Tourism joins Lowveld Airshow 2025 as official partner

The Lowveld Airshow today announced that the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) has joined as an official event partner for this year’s highly anticipated airshow taking place on 9 and 10 May at the Nelspruit Airport.

This exciting partnership further strengthens the event’s commitment to bringing the world of music and aviation to the people while showcasing the incredible talent of pilots and musicians from across South Africa. 

Since its inception, the Lowveld Airshow has been a premier aviation spectacle, and this year marks its 31st anniversary. 

Speaking about the significance of sponsorships, Johan Heine, chairperson of the Lowveld Airshow, stated: “The support of our sponsors is crucial in making this event affordable for the public. It is about more than just aviation; it is about bringing families and friends together to experience the magic of music and flight.”

This year’s theme, “A symphony of flight and sound”, promises an unforgettable experience, blending the thrill of aviation with the power of music. 

Kicking off the weekend’s festivities, a 25-piece orchestra will take centre stage on the evening of Friday, 9 May, delivering a mesmerising performance against the backdrop of a sunset aircraft display and hot-air balloons, ending with a firework display. 

Guests can enjoy this spectacular evening in theatre-style seating with canapés and a cash bar, making for an elegant and exclusive event. 

Tickets for the orchestra event are priced at R350 per person, with limited availability.

Air Show Extravaganza 

On Saturday, 10 May, aviation enthusiasts and families can look forward to an action-packed day featuring breathtaking aerobatic displays, a variety of aircraft, and a dynamic pre-show programme. 

Attendees can also explore over 100 market stalls and indulge in delicious food, while kids enjoy a dedicated play area. 

Gates will open at 10:00, with the airshow starting at 15:00.

To make this year’s event even more accessible, a flash sale will run until 10 April, offering early-bird tickets at last year’s prices. 

From 11 April standard pricing will apply, and tickets will remain available until Friday, 8 May. Tickets can be bought exclusively online through Quicket
