Older-persons Grants will be paid on Wednesday, 2 April, from 08:00 to 16:00, Disability Grants will be paid on Thursday, 3 April from 08:00 to 16:00, and Child-support Grants will be paid on Friday, 4 April from 08:00 to 16:00.
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana (feature image) earlier announced SASSA grant increases effective from April 2025. These new payment increases will apply to permanent social grants.
The increases are as follows:
- Older-persons Grant (ages 60-74): Increases by R130 to R2 315;
- Older-persons Grant (ages 75 and above): Increases by R135 to R2 335;
- War-veterans Grant: Increases by R130 to R2 315;
- Disability Grant: Increases by R130 to R2 315;
- Care-dependency Grant: Increases by R130 to R2 315;
- Child-support Grant: Increases by R30 to R560;
- Child-support Grant Top-Up: Increases by R15 to R265;
- Foster-care Grant: Increases by R70 to R1 250;
- Grant-in-Aid: Remains unchanged at R530; and
- Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant: Increased from R350 to a permanent SRD R370 payment.
