The Nelspruit SPCA received animal food, as well as R1 200 towards its petrol account. Liznica House of Hope received blankets and R6 000 for baby formula and other baby necessities.
Lize Pienaar of the Nelspruit SPCA says the organisation has on average between 50 and 100 animals in its care at any given time.

Liznica House of Hope in Nelspruit is a registered safe house that provides a safe haven for abandoned and abused babies and children of up to five years old.

The heart and hands behind the shelter, Liza Labuschagne, adopted a baby when she was only 21 years old. Today she looks after the babies in her care without any help.
“I am used to very little sleep!” she says.

Nomads Bowls is an organisation whose members play bowls for their enjoyment while raising funds for those in need in the community.
Mattie Coetzee of Nomads Bowls says helping organisations who help others is a big honour.

“We were able to help these two organisations, because we had extra money in reserve and we hope that our donations will make a difference in the lives of the beneficiaries of the Nelspruit SPCA and Liznica House of Hope.”
