The workshop was hosted by Coastal Hire Nelspruit and Mrs Mpumalanga finalist Jo-Anne Wyndham.
The boxes were decorated with door handles, light switches and other colourful items and are aimed to keep little ones busy for hours.
The morning kicked off with Dr André Hattingh of Pediatric Care Africa telling stories about his journey working with sick and injured children around Africa before he started Pediatric Care Africa, an organisation providing medical and nutritional care for children in South Africa.
“We are so grateful for these boxes. They will be of great value when children are waiting in long lines to see the doctor,” Dr Hattingh said.
The women thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the workshop.
“Now that I can use a drill properly, I can hang my portraits myself,” said Amanda Oosthuyzen, who also attended the workshop.
The morning ended on a high note with a big prize for one of the lucky draw participants: a brand new Kärcher vacuum cleaner.
