The bodies reportedly had no visible injuries.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, people living with the three men reported them as missing at Elukwatini police station on Friday. They said that the three had informed them that they were heading to the game reserve, but never returned.
Police accompanied the complainants to the game reserve where they were informed by officials at the game reserve that people frequently gained entry to the reserve without authorisation.

The officials also told police that people that had been noticed inside the reserve about a week ago, but fled when they noticed the authorities and have not been seen since.
Police went to where the people had last been seen and noticed three bodies floating in the Nkomazi River.

The three bodies were retrieved from the river.
A postmortem will be conducted, and the identities of the three men will be shared once their next of kin have been notified.
Preliminary investigation by the Police has thus far revealed that the men are originally from Zimbabwe.
