Mpumalanga police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo says police were conducting routine patrols when they received information about a truck that had reportedly been hijacked, driving on the N4 highway.


“The police spotted the truck that matched the description and intercepted it. Preliminary investigation revealed that the truck had indeed been hijacked in Randburg earlier this month.”

The driver was arrested and charged with possession of a suspected hijacked motor vehicle. He is expected to appear before the Nelspruit magistrate’s court soon.
