Hosted under the twinkling fairy lights of Sonpark Boulevard, this popular event combines fabulous food, high-energy entertainment and community spirit for a great cause.

Now in its 18th year, Night of a Thousand Stars has become a highlight on the Lowveld calendar and a significant fundraiser for the Lowveld branch of the Cancer Association of South Africa.

To date, the event has raised more than R1,9 million, with a large portion earmarked for women’s health services, including breast exams, pap smears and skin cancer screenings for those who cannot otherwise afford them.

For one glamorous evening, Sonpark Boulevard will transform into a glittering street restaurant where some of the region’s best restaurants will serve a themed three-course meal to beautifully decorated tables. Guests are encouraged to dress up in true Las Vegas style, adding sparkle and flair to the evening.

Entertainment will be provided by a lively swing duo and brass section, setting the tone for an unforgettable street party. A panel of judges will select the best starter, main and dessert of the evening, with the winning restaurants featured in Get It magazine.

Tickets are R600 per person, with R300 going directly to CANSA. Restaurants book and cater their own tables and often sell them to loyal patrons or corporate clients, creating a vibrant mix of community and culinary excellence.

This year’s event is made possible through the support of Sonpark Shopping Centre, SPAR Lowveld, Doug’s Hiring,  JVR Events and Ford Nelspruit with Get It and Lowvelder as media partners.

Some of the top restaurants in the city have already committed to providing an excellent culinary experience, including Orange, Cicada, Doppio Zerio, Blue Gate, O’espeto and Wagyu Groove. A full list of the participating restaurants will be published next week. In the meantime, please reserve your spot with Sandra Jacobs on 082 853 7885 or Rinella Janse van Vuuren on 082 041 2124.
