White River SPCA fundraiser a smashing success

The SPCA in White River held a fundraising market at its premises over the weekend.

Estelle de Villiers, chairperson of the White River SPCA, says she is very happy with the turnout.

“Even though we live in difficult times, we still have our supporters. We usually send out special invitations to them and we are never disappointed. We had extra street stalls and they did really well,” she says.

The next pop-up street shop will be on 11 December.

James Springorum sold cup cakes at the market to help raise funds for the SPCA. It is part of the Uplands Courageous Challenge. James has also picked up litter at the Lowveld National Botanical Garden, helped to load a truck with food to be sent to KwaZulu-Natal after the recent unrest, and collected food for Feed the Need in White River.
