Steelpoort pilot dies in plane crash
A 44-year-old man was killed after his aircraft crashed outside Nelspruit at about 15:30 yesterday.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, Jeff Mkhashane Mabuza of Steelpoort was flying the aircraft alone from Steelpoort in the mountainous area next to the Kaapsehoop Road. He was heading to the old Nelspruit airport when the accident occurred.

After the crash, emergency personnel rushed to the scene, where they found his lifeless and decapitated body next to the crash site.
A preliminary probe indicated that Mabuza was the owner of the aircraft. Details regarding the cause of the crash are still unclear and the South African Civil Aviation Authority will conduct an investigation with regard to the crash.
