Radio man appointed new Ruggedwear ambassador
Ruggedwear, a proudly Lowveld clothing brand, recently appointed well-known radio personality Mack Rapapali as its ambassador.
And to add more local flavour to the new partnership, local photographers Géran and Michelle Raath of Skullpt Studio in Nelspruit, assumed responsibility for taking the photos for the new Ruggedwear catalogue.
Mack has become a household name as one of the voices on Jacaranda FM. A host, actor, DJ, musician, presenter, motivational speaker, brand ambassador and content creator, the Free State-born entertainer has many talents.
“From a young age, I knew that I had a passion to entertain people,” he says.
Sporting the Ruggedwear range during a recent photoshoot, Mack said that he loves everything about the brand.
“The clothes are comfortable, practical and casual – it works for werk, kerk en dans,” he joked. “I love the bos vibe.”
Michelle introduced Mack to Lizelle Chaffey, the marketing manager of Ruggedwear, and he immediately fell in love with the brand. She says she immediately knew that he would be the perfect fit for the brand.
And she was spot-on.

“As a boskind of Welkom in the Free State, the brand is exactly my style,” Mack says.
Lizelle was equally happy with the newly acquired ambassador.
“He is exactly what our brand represents. Our clothes fit him perfectly,” she says.
Ruggedwear, a company with 200 employees and its head office in Nelspruit, offers clothing for men, women and children.
Lizelle says the clothes are good quality, durable and affordable.
“If you are adventurous, tough, passionate and driven, the Ruggedwear range is meant for you,” she says.
When asked about his favourite Ruggedwear item, he said it has to be the boots.
“But I actually like all of it. It fits me and I feel comfortable wearing it,” he says.
