Provincial Mpumalanga MS finalist hosts golf day in support of animal charity
Provincial Mpumalanga MS finalist Carlette Alberts hosted a golf day in aid of Pets in Distress Hazyview at the Kruger Park Lodge golf club earlier this month.
A passionate animal lover, Carlette decided early on in her journey as a finalist that Pets in Distress Hazyview would be one of the charities she would support.

When she announced her plans for the golf day, White River Primary School quickly jumped in to help her to collect pet food.
Learners brought pet food to school and there were two learners who worked especially hard to support the project. They are Leandri Pretoruis in Grade 5 and Yanicka du Plessis in Grade 4.

“The two were rewarded for their effort with an opportunity to visit and interact with the elephants at Elephant Whispers, Hazyview,” Carlette says.
The pet food that was collected was handed over to Pets in Distress at the golf day.
Carlette says the golf day was a huge success.

“The weather was perfect for a day out on the course and the people had an amazing vibe, which made it so much easier because it was for a great cause.
“This might be the first golf day for Pets in Distress Hazyview, but definitely not the last,” she says.
She thanked the players, tee-hole sponsors and companies and individuals who donated to the golf day.
