For this reason, TRAC continuously implements construction projects along the route. These not only allow for the conduct of routine road maintenance and rehabilitation of what already exists but also provides the opportunity to do major upgrades such as building additional lanes on the road as well as the construction of interchanges and bridges.
Apart from the Schoemanskloof upgrade and rehabilitation project that is already underway, TRAC will also commence with new projects along the N4.
