“We are incredibly proud of the programme we have assembled for Saturday,” says Johan Heine, chairperson of the Mpumalanga Air Show. “Sponsored by the Mpumalanga Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency, this show is about more than just aircraft – it is about community, courage, and the spirit of flight. We are pulling out all the stops to make this the most thrilling air show Mpumalanga has ever seen.”

From the moment the gates open at 10:00 at the Nelspruit Airport, visitors can enjoy over 100 food and lifestyle stalls, arrival displays and model aircraft.
The action truly kicks off at 15:00 with a dramatic Vietnam-themed opening, immediately followed by a lineup featuring the nimble RV-7, the daring gyrocopter, and the iconic Puma Flying Lions, all leading to a high-speed helicopter-and-car-race display.
At 16:00, Skydiving South Africa will deliver a jaw-dropping flag drop, followed by a spellbinding series of aerial performances. Highlights include the elegant glider, the Kishugu / WoF firefighting display, a helicopter formation with colour pyrotechnics, and aerobatics by the Extra 300.

The Flying Lions will take off again at 17:00 for their legendary twilight display, followed by the Tora Tora pyrotechnic performance. By 17:30, as the Flying Lions land in formation for a mass shutdown, the field will transform into a glowing wonderland with hot-air balloons rising as the evening darkens.
Then at 18:05, the sky will erupt in colour with a spectacular fireworks finale, closing out the show with the same energy and spectacle that will define the entire day.
