Participating schools included Numbi Primary, Laerskool Graskop, Laerskool Sabie, Lydenburg Primary, White River Primary, Laerskool Laeveld, Laerskool Malelane, Hazyview Primary, and Summerhill Primary.

Despite the unusually hot weather for this time of year, the young players showed incredible energy and enthusiasm. The festival welcomed age groups under seven (U7) and under eight (U8), giving these budding athletes a first taste of competitive hockey in a friendly and supportive environment.



Matches were played in a spirit of fair play, teamwork, and sportsmanship, with each school bringing their unique energy and cheering on their teams. Coaches and teachers encouraged participation and skills development, ensuring the focus remained on learning, having fun, and building confidence on the field.

Parents and spectators were treated to some fast-paced hockey action, witnessing first-hand the determination and talent of these young players. The festival not only provided an opportunity for schools to compete, but also allowed children to make new friends, share experiences, and develop a love for the sport that could last a lifetime.

Numbi Primary did a fantastic job hosting the event, with well-organised matches and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. By the end of the day, it was clear that the real highlight was the smiles and teamwork.
