Lowvelders are invited for a taste of Mexico at Picasso’s in White River
Picasso’s Mexican Taqueria at The Bagdad Centre in White River has become synonymous with good food and a good time, with many guests returning to the restaurant over and over again.
Picasso’s originated on Naxos Island in Greece about 27 years ago. John Davis and his family brought the restaurant to South Africa in 2014 and still has close ties with Stratos Perakis, the original owner of the concept. He used to be a shareholder in the South African Picasso’s, but has since sold it to the Davis family.
In 2022, Picasso’s opened another outlet in Athens and the logo and look and feel for this new restaurant was updated. The South African Picasso’s followed suit and now boasts a fresh new logo. New menus are about to be introduced with some exciting new dishes and cocktails and a variety of vegan options.
Since its opening in 2014, the restaurant has been offering delicious, fresh Mexican food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The restaurant’s delicious range of Mexican food not only includes a scrumptious variety of taco fillings, but also nachos, chimichangas, fajitas, burritos, quesadillas and Mexican bowls. Numerous dishes – from street chicken to pulled pork – are prepared in a wood-burning oven, ensuring a unique flavour. The scrumptious dessert menu includes the restaurant’s renowned churros.
The large pizza selection, made from tasty fresh ingredients before being placed into the wood-burning oven, makes for a memorable meal for adults and kids alike.
The signature cocktail range includes frozen Lime Margaritas and Strawberry Daiquiris that people come from far and wide just to taste. Mexican Gold, an on-tap craft beer infused with tequila only available at Picasso’s, and the vast range of tequilas and other drinks make it almost impossible to choose.
Picasso’s Mexican Taqueria is a 240-seater restaurant, offering various inside and outside areas to professionally host any function, from year-end and bachelorette parties to pre-wedding dinners and more. The atmosphere is relaxed and the outside area under the trees will help even the most stressed-out guest relax.
