Lowveld Nomads rolling for Hospice Nelspruit
The beneficiary of the Lowveld Nomad Bowls outing on Saturday was Nelspruit Hospice. Members arrived at LVCC bearing gifts of toiletries for the patients.
Landi Bezuidenhout, CEO of Hospice Nelspruit, explained the work and needs of the Hospice, which entails providing palliative care and improving the quality of life of those suffering from incurable and life-threatening conditions.

This care is provided to the terminally ill in the Nelspruit area without regard to colour, creed, age or the ability to pay.

Nomads President Jerry Gertzen handed over a mountain of toiletries for the Hospice. All funds raised on the day will be used to buy adult nappies for the patients.
The format of play was drawn trips of two games of nine ends each with different teams and opponents for each game. Prizes were awarded for the best Skip, Second and Lead of the day, as well as for the most touches achieved by a player.
A considerable sum of money was raised from players’ entry fees and the various fundraising activities which took place throughout the day. This included a Fines session, numbers board and a raffle.
The Nomads is an organisation whose members play bowls for their enjoyment while raising funds for those in need in the community.
