Eleven people injured in two accidents on N4
Two accidents have been reported this morning on the N4 toll road in Nkomazi in which eleven people were seriously injured.
The first accident happened at about 03:00 between Hectorspruit and Impala when an articulated truck crashed into the rear of another articulated truck. The truck that was in the front then collided with a bakkie.
The driver of the truck that collided into the other truck was seriously injured.
The second crash took place at about 09:30 between Nkomazi Toll Plaza and Malalane.
A midibus and a BMW sedan collided head-on. A Nissan Xtrail was also involved in the collision.
Ten people, including the driver of the midibus, were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the BMW was slightly injured.
People should expect some delays as clearing of the crashes is underway.
Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson Zandile Mavuso urged motorists to be cautious when driving in rainy weather. He also encouraged them to keep their headlights on, reduce speed and keep safe following distances.
